This is the first "Nugget" I came up with years ago. I'm not sure why I call them Nuggets, but each is a simple one-liner that serves as a reminder to do something healthy. Keep It Light 'N Fluffy is an intentionally silly perspective on how you deal with unhealthy people. People that take advantage, who are negative, who are abusive, or who have bad boundaries.
This is a reminder to avoid getting sucked into drama, or getting into a debate when you are setting a boundary or saying "No." Keeping the conversation light - clouds, rainbows, butterflies and unicorns only, please! - keeps things from getting toxic. When they try to go toxic, you keep it in the clouds - surface level and safe. If they keep at it? You can end the conversation, because You have the power in the relationship. You are the one who determines what you are willing to accept. And if the person just can't seem to avoid being toxic, you can just Keep It Light 'N Fluffy - because their issues don't belong to you.
