This beautiful piece was hand carved from the limb of the Drake Elm I had to harvest in my back yard. The poor tree developed rot in the trunk and was in danger of falling and hitting my house. The gorgeous pattern you see in the wood was caused by the rot in the heart wood, which is a deep red color running through the center of the tray. Hand carved, sanded, and wax finished, this is functional art at its best.
